Two layers: the plan and the record
The plan is the custody calendar: colour-coded parenting time per parent, exchanges, school, medical and sports events, in week or month view. Regular blocks repeat weekly so you set them once.
The record is everything that happened to that plan afterwards: a swap requested and accepted, a swap declined, an exchange marked late by twenty minutes, a day marked missed. Each of those is dated and visible to both parents.
What the tracker records
- Whose parenting time it is on every day, and right now on the Home screen
- Every swap: who asked, the message, and whether it is still pending or was accepted or declined
- Attendance on exchanges and custody days: on time, late with minutes, or missed
- The exchanges themselves, with time and location
- Related activity in the same family record: messages and shared expenses
Fair swaps
Swaps are where a tracker usually breaks down, because they are negotiated by text and never written into the calendar. In CoParent a swap is a request with a status: pending until the other parent taps Accept or Decline. When you want help proposing something balanced, the Fair swap suggestion — a Premium feature — looks at the schedule and suggests a trade; the other parent still decides.
Reviewing the record
Premium lets you export the chronological activity — calendar, swaps, attendance, messages and expenses — as a CSV or PDF. It is for your own records: not a legal document, not a court filing, and CoParent does not give legal advice. If a lawyer or mediator asks you for a record of parenting time, ask them what format they need before relying on any export.
Frequently asked questions
Does it count total parenting time per parent?
The calendar shows parenting time by day and colour for each parent. Summed hours or percentages are not a feature in the current version; the export lists each day so you can total it yourself.
Can I track a schedule the other parent has not agreed to?
You can enter any schedule, but the value of CoParent is the shared record. Invite the other parent so the same days, swaps and attendance are visible to both of you.
Is the custody tracker free?
Yes for both parents. Unlimited history, exports and fair-swap suggestions are part of Premium.
